Function of the DIRECT SELECT lever

WARNING Risk of accident due to incorrect gearshifting

Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever Depress the brake pedal and push the DIRECT SELECT lever upwards past the first point of resistance.

Engaging neutral N

Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever Depress the brake pedal and push the DIRECT SELECT lever up or down to the first point of resistance.

To shift into neutral Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever with the ignition on, push the selector lever up or down for several seconds to the first point of resistance.

Subsequently releasing the brake pedal will allow you to move the vehicle freely, e.g. to push it or tow it away.

Proceed as follows if you want the automatic transmission to remain in neutral Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever, even if the ignition is switched off or the driver's door is opened:

When the transmission position display shows Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever, the park position is engaged. If no transmission position display Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever appears, secure the vehicle to prevent it from rolling away.

Depending on the situation, it may take a short time until Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever is engaged. Therefore, always pay attention to the transmission position display.

Park position Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever is engaged automatically if one of the following conditions is met:

  • You switch off the ignition when the vehicle is stationary and the transmission position is Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever or Mercedes-Benz GLC. DIRECT SELECT lever.

Engaging drive position D
