Mercedes-Benz GLC : Changing a wheel / Raising the vehicle when changing a wheel
Requirements:
- There are no persons in the vehicle.
- The vehicle has been prepared for a wheel
change.
Important notes on using the jack:
- Use only a vehicle-specific jack that has
been approved by Mercedes-Benz to raise
the vehicle.
- The jack is only designed for raising and
holding the vehicle for a short time while a
wheel is being changed and not for maintenance
work under the vehicle.
- The jack must be placed on a firm, flat and
non-slip surface. If necessary, use a large,
flat, load-bearing, non-slip underlay.
- The foot of the jack must be positioned vertically
under the jack support point.

Rules of conduct when the vehicle is raised:
- Never place your hands or feet under the
vehicle.
- Never lie under the vehicle.
- Do not start the engine and do not release
the electric parking brake.
- Do not open or close any doors or the tailgate.

Using the lug wrench, loosen
the wheel bolts
on the wheel you wish to change by about
one full turn. Do not unscrew the bolts completely.
