Mercedes-Benz GLC : Maneuvering assistance / Function of Cross Traffic Alert
Cross Traffic Alert is only available for vehicles
with Blind Spot Assist or Active Blind
Spot Assist.
Cross Traffic Alert can warn drivers of any crossing
traffic when backing up and maneuvering out
of a parking space. The radar sensors in the
bumper also monitor the area adjacent to the
vehicle. If a critical situation is detected, the
symbol appears in the media
display and
the vehicle can be braked automatically.
If the radar sensors are obstructed by vehicles
or other objects, detection is not possible.
Cross Traffic Alert is active under the following
conditions:
- If the vehicle is backing up at walking pace.
- Maneuvering assistance is activated.
Also observe the instructions on Blind Spot
Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist.
The performance of Drive Away Assist is limited
on inclines.
When driving with a trailer, Drive Away Assist is
not available.
Also observe the system limits of Parking
Assist PARKTRONIC...
Other information:
If a collision is detected when the tow-away
alarm is armed on a locked vehicle, you will
receive a notification in the multimedia system
when you switch on the ignition.
